Well the Valve’s Steam Link app allows to play Steam games directly on your iOS devices over network streaming. Earlier it was denied and rejected by the Apple last year. Now after a year Valve releases Steam Link app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Back then, Valve explained Apple’s decision in a post: “Apple approved the Steam Link app for release. Valve released news of the app and Apple revoked its approval citing business conflicts with app guidelines.”
Besides that, It’s notable, however, that the new iOS Steam Link app doesn’t allow users to purchase games from the Steam store, unlike on Android.
Valve releases Steam Link app for iOS
PC gaming is ready to meet iOS, now that Valve’s Steam Link app is available for Apple’s devices. You can even play them on your TV easily via the Apple TV, streamed right from your PC. After clearing the concerns of Apple, finally Valve have addresses all the issues.
Steam Link for iOS and Apple TV allows Steam players to access their library of games while connected to their host Mac. This allows users to stream their existing Steam games via iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
According to Valve app, “The Steam Link app brings desktop gaming to your iPhone or iPad. Just pair an MFI or Steam controller to your device, connect to a computer running Steam on the same local network, and start playing your existing Steam games.”
Apple’s marketing chief Phil Schiller said that Apple would continue to work with Valve to “bring the Steam experience to iOS and Apple TV in a way that complies with the [App Store] guidelines.” And it appears the two companies were finally able to reach an agreement.
